HMD Global, the Finnish company that’s responsible for manufacturing Nokia devices, has launched Nokia 2 yesterday, 31 October, 2017. The device is a budget smartphone and it comes with some promising features in every department.
With the Nokia 2, HMD Global wants to cover the ultra-cheap smartphone segment to increase its market share in India.
Here are the specifications of the Nokia 2
Nokia 2 is fueled by Snapdragon 212. It also has an Adreno 304 GPU. The RAM is expected to be 1GB RAM, along with 8 GB of internal storage.
The handset is powered by 4100 mAh battery. The company claims 2 days’ worth of battery life, if the phone is used for 5 hours a day. Nokia 2 sports a 5-inch HD screen. It has a contrast ratio of 13000:1 and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It houses an 8-megapixel primary camera with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Nokia 2 runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1, which is a first for a phone in this budget section. The company wishes to keep the device future proof, meaning Nokia 2 will also receive the update for Android Oreo soon enough.
Other than the stock Android, the Nokia 2 will also offer Google Assistant. It will have an option to get search results in Hindi as well. The voice assistant has been featured for the first time in a budget mobile. The mobile will also support LTE 4G.
Coming to the design, Nokia 2 is shaped from 6000 series of aluminum. It further has a polycarbonate backside. The mobile will be available in White, Copper, and Black, variants.
The Nokia 2 will cost 99 euros for global markets, which sums around 7,000 INR. The device will be available for purchase from mid-November. The price for Indian markets is not yet revealed. Nokia 2 may be priced somewhere between 6,000 to 6,500 INR.
