Nokia 6 (2018) Unveiled: Read it all here

HMD Global has finally declared that the Nokia 6 (2018) is its first smartphone of the year 2018. The new Nokia mobile will succeed last year’s Nokia 6. It is launching in China. It is expected that the mobile will soon be available for sale in India too.

Pre-orders for Nokia 6 (2018) have started in China. The sale will begin from January 10. The 32GB Nokia 6 (2018) is priced at CNY 1,499 (approximately 14,600 INR). The 64GB model will cost the buyers CNY 1,699 (roughly 16,600 INR). The color options available for the both the models are: Black and Silver.

Unlike the Nokia 6, which was unveiled in January 2017 with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, the Nokia 6 (2018) has a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Nokia 6 (2018) has eliminated the capacitive keys alongside the frontal fingerprint scanner. HMD has seemingly opted for an on-screen navigation for making the interface of the new Nokia 6 closer to stock Android UI. The new device has a 16:9 display aspect ratio. Also, the Nokia 6 (2018) features a metal unibody build made of 6000 series aluminium.

Nokia 6 (2018) operates on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. The handset offers dual-SIM (Nano). The Nokia 6 (2018) sports a 5.5-inch IPS display. And it has a full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The handset is fueled by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC. It is clocked at 2.2GHz, and it comes paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. You can expand the internal storage of Nokia 6 using microSD card slot (up to 128GB). It has a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.

The device sports a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor, along with a dual-tone LED flash. Its PDAF lens has sm f/2.0 aperture. The device boasts an 8-megapixel camera in the front with an f/2.0, plus 84-degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone offers the Dual-Sight technology. This technology will let you capture simultaneous shots from the rear and front camera sensors, resulting in a Bothie. The connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5, FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Nokia 6 (2018) is powered by a 3000mAh battery, which presents a fast charging technology. The smartphone measures 148.8×75.8×8.6mm and weighs 172 grams.

HMD Global to launch Nokia 7 in global markets soon

HMD Global, the company responsible for developing Nokia-branded smartphones has recently unveiled the Nokia 7 in China. Looks like the company is all set to unveil Nokia 7 globally, that too soon enough.

HMD Global, the Finnish manufacturer, will roll out the mobile phone worldwide in the early half of 2018. Nevertheless, at Nokia 2’s launch, the HMD’s global chief marketing officer Pekka Rantala mentioned,

Nokia 7 is designed for Chinese consumers, so currently we’ve no plans to bring it to India.

So, there still needs clarity as to whether the firm will unveil the Nokia 7 in India or not.

The Nokia 7 is priced at 7 CNY 2,499 and CNY 2,699 for the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM model, in China respectively. The mobile is offered in Glassy Black and Matte White variants. The device further carries Series 7000 Aluminium build, which the company claims is the strongest in the alignment.

The device functions on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. Similar to other Nokia mobiles, Nokia  7 will also be updated with Android 8.0 Oreo operator. The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch full-HD 1080×1920 pixels resolution. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top protects the surface of the handset.

The smartphone is fueled by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM. Nokia 7 provides 64GB internal storage that you can expand using a microSD card. The mobile flaunts a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, Carl Zeiss lens, and LED flash. The handset offers a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies.

Just as Nokia 8, the Nokia 7 also uses a Bothie feature. The Bothie feature fixates the front as well as the rear camera in a split screen visual for photos as well as videos. You can activate this feature in just a touch. It further assures a more engrossing experience with live streaming on Facebook and YouTube.

The device is packed with a 3000mAh battery. It provides VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, and GPS for connectivity options.

Nokia 2 is the latest budget smartphone from the HMD Global. And it will go on sale in India this Friday, November 24, 2017. The company has initially launched the smartphone in India in late October. Today, November 23, 2017, the company informed when the Nokia 2 will be available in India.

The Nokia 2 is priced at 6,999 INR. The device will go on sale, as mentioned earlier, on Friday, November 24. The company has offered an array of choices in the form of Pewter/White Pewter/Black, and Copper/Black color models in India.

Coming to the offers launched with this phone, the Reliance Jio customers will get up 45GB of additional data. Specifically Jio consumers will get an additional 5GB of data each time they recharge with 309 INR or above for consecutive 9 recharges up till August 31, 2018.

People opting to buy this phone will get a complimentary 12-month accidental damage insurance plan from Servify once they open a Kotak 811 savings account, and activate it using a preliminary deposit of just 1,000 INR in the starting period.

Nokia 2 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and offers dual SIM card (nano) slots. It features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) LTPS In-Cell Touch display providing a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It functions on Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (quad-core, clocked up to 1.2GHz) with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The mobile features an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera, plus an LED flash, with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The Nokia 2 provides 8GB of inbuilt storage, expandable using a microSD card up to 128GB in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. The connectivity selections on this mobile are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE, FM radio with RDS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device measures 143.5×71.3×9.3mm and it is IP52-rated for drip protection.
