Paytm, which is one of the most widely used e-wallets in the country, just got upgraded to a whole new level. This update is available for both Android as well as iOS devices. Apart from bringing in bug fixes and performance improvements, the latest upgrade will allow you to request for a physical Paytm debit card. The app will also allow you to use the BHIM app, which will enable users to send and receive funds in their bank accounts with the help of UPI (Unified Payments Interface).
When the company launched its brand payments banks service, Paytm began to offer users a virtual debit card. The virtual debit card is just like a physical card. It has details like your name, expiry date 16-digit number, and CVV number. You can use this card for making payments when shopping online. And since it is a virtual card, you can’t swipe it on PoS machines.
But as the company assured, you can now request a physical paytm debit card. If you have a verified Paytm payments bank account and wish to have a physical debit card, then follow these steps.
For starters, open the Paytm app on your Android or iOS device. Next, you have to tap on the ‘Paytm Payments Bank’ icon that’s situated at the bottom right corner of the page.
Now, you can see the virtual debit card, wallet balance, among other things. Scroll down to a section that reads “bank account services”. Now go to bank account services and tap on “Debit & ATM card”.
Now at the next screen, you will be able to see your virtual debit card. There is an option to block your card, plus an option to “request for card.” Tap on the latter one.
Now, you will be able to view your card details along with your registered address. Apart from the address, you will see a tiny radio button. Click on it and select your address. Next, the “proceed to pay” section will be highlighted. When you tap on it, you will be charged 120 INR. Lastly, your actually physical paytm debit card will be delivered to your address in the just a few days.
