Book an Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ at Just 2000 INR

Samsung has just released its brand new flagship mobiles. The tech giant made this announcement at MWC2018. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and the S9+ resemble closely to Galaxy S8 for their design. However, they store advanced top-end features such as SmartThings app, improved Bixby, camera system,  and Knox 3.1 for defense-grade security.

Specs and Features of S9 and S9+

The Infinity Display braces the front of the Galaxy S9 and sports a 5.8-inch display. The S9+ is larger and has a 6.2-inch screen. Both the devices are water and dust resistant with a thinness of 8.5mm. The fingerprint sensor is placed underneath the camera sensor. The devices are equipped with a new verification called ‘Intelligent Scan’ that smartly makes use of the collective strength of iris scanning and facial recognition technology. This quickens the unlock functionality on a user’s phone.

The  Fingerprint sensor also allows users to use a specific fingerprint for accessing Secure Folder, which is often different from the print used to simply unlock the handset. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ offer stereo speakers tuned by AKG, plus the immersive audio with Dolby Atmos. Fueled by Octa-core, 10 nm processor, the Galaxy S9 packs in 4GB of RAM, and the S9+ stores 6GB of RAM. You can avail them in 64GB and 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 400GB.

Coming to the camera, the S9 casts a single super speed dual aperture 12-megapixel camera. The S9+, on the other hand, offers a dual-camera system at the back offering a dual-aperture wide-angle camera along with a telephoto camera on the back. Both the devices present Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and aperture f/1.5 to f/2.4 for capturing life-like images even in low light conditions.

The S9 and S9+ can record super slow-motion videos at 960 frames per second. The Automatic Motion Detection functionality allows auto-recording by simply detecting movement in the frame. Once the Super Slow-mo video is shot, the S9 and the S9+ can automatically select the background music for the video. You can further customize this music from 35 different presets. You can also add your favorite tune to it from your playlist.

With the help of real-time object detection and recognition, Bixby can quickly generate information right on top of the image that the camera is pointing at.  This Live Translation allows real-time language translation as well as currency conversion. Bixby also makes the path to purchase products that are seen in the real world.

The SmartThings app available on the new phones successfully manages every facet of the connected lifestyle, be it at home, the office or on the go. Just like Apple’s Animoji, Samsung has also unveiled AR Emoji. This lets users create an emoji just by analyzing a 2D image of the user. Then, it creates a 3D model that reflects and imitates expressions.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ on February 25. The Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, will have additional enhancements compared to last year’s Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. The changes will be seen in the design and core hardware.

In simple terms, while the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ were more or less the same deal differing only in screen size and battery capacities, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ will be a lot different from each other.

The Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, ideally will come equipped with Samsung’s hallmark bezel-less Infinity display. They will have an aspect ratio of 18:9. Another change that’s remarkably worth noting is the repositioning of the fingerprint scanner in Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Unlike other phones, the fingerprint scanner in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be placed right below the screen so that reaching out to it won’t be a problem.

The brand new handsets will retain 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch screen sizes using Samsung’s proprietary Super AMOLED panels. The phones will operate on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 for the US and an Exynos 9810 for the remaining global market, along with India.

The Galaxy S9 will offer 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and the Galaxy S9+ will present 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Galaxy S9 will offer a single camera sensor at the back, which can shoot dual-pixel 12-megapixel photos, backed by OIS. The Galaxy S9 may also present a Super Slo-mo mode. The Galaxy S9+ may possibly use the same primary sensor, but it will also provide a secondary 12-megapixel sensor using fixed aperture.

Both the phones will feature an 8-megapixel camera on the front. Users can take animated avatars with them, which are like the iPhone X’s animoji feature.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ may present stereo speakers tuned by AKG. The Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ will arrange a bottom firing solution. There are no rumors on cost yet. Samsung will possible start the sales from March 16, 2018 though. We can expect the devices to arrive in India around the same time frame.

Samsung Galaxy S8 May Feature With Facial Recognition

Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung might provide facial recognition biometric security feature in its upcoming flagship smartphone Galaxy S8. Galaxy S8 also contains Iris scanning biometric security which was earlier introduced in Galaxy Note 7. The reason behind providing facial recognition could be that Apple is likely to provide facial recognition in iPhone 8. This could probably replace fingerprint sensor biometric feature in new future.

A report by The Investor stated that the device could have facial recognition along with Iris scanner feature. “Due to some limits of iris scanning such as speed and accuracy, we have decided to add facial recognition to the Galaxy S8,” a Samsung official was quoted as saying. “With a face scanner, it will take less than 0.01 seconds to unlock the phone.”
