On Wednesday, Facebook unveiled the WhatsApp Business app for small to medium sized businesses. WhatsApp business is a part of the WhatsApp for Business enterprise. It was first announced in September 2017. The program was then tested with businesses like BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip in India. The latest app is available to download using Google Play in Italy, Mexico, Indonesia, the UK, and the US. It is absolutely free of cost. The app will soon enough have a version for Apple’s iPhone too.
The WhatsApp Business app aims to help small companies connect with their customers. This app can help customers with important information like business description, email or store addresses, and website.
The app will save time by offering smart messaging tools like giving quick responses for frequently asked asked questions. The app can also help in greeting messages to introduce customers to your business. Plus it can help you with sending away messages to customers to inform then you’re busy.
The regular WhatsApp users can use WhatsApp as usual. You don’t have to download anything new. The company claims that WhatsApp helps over 80 percent of small businesses in Brazil and India to communicate with their customers for growing their businesses. WhatsApp also alleges that 84 percent of SMBs believe that WhatsApp has helped them connect with customers. And 80 percent of SMBs believe that WhatsApp has helped them in growing their businesses.
These brand new WhatsApp business accounts are targeted at the companies that draw in a high volume of WhatsApp messages and require massive help to keep up with them.
The company does state that WhatsApp proposes to charge businesses in some or the other form in the near future for offering this functionality. However, the popular app does believe that it is too soon to discuss when this would take place in the future. It is pretty soon to even wonder what the future business services may look like.
