The Chinese mobile maker OnePlus has finally rolled out the OxygenOS 5.0 OTA for its OnePlus 3 and 3T from 20 November, 2107.
OxygenOS 5 is the first stable Android 8.0 Oreo-based that is available to 3 and 3T users. Various other smartphones such as Samsung, HTC, and LG are still testing out the beta version of their Oreo-based upgrades. OnePlus has confirmed that just like all its previous updates, this Oreo update will also be an additional bit. This update must have rolled out to the majority of the users by now.
The latest Oreo update rolled out two months after OnePlus unveiled the OxygenOS 4.5.0 OTA. Then, the company launched a bug fix called OxygenOS 4.5.1. This upgrade improvised the OnePlus 3 and 3T with some OnePlus 5-related functionality. The updated Oreo 8.0 pertains features such as Picture-in-Picture, Smart text selection, Auto-fill, and redesigned Quick settings.
The brand has more supplementary functions like the latest app folder design to the OnePlus launcher, and Parallel Apps, notification dots. The best part about this brand new update is the fact that the Android security patch in the operating system is still underdeveloped at September, which is complete two months after the recent security patch level.
Apart from the above, there are some changes in the update that allow users to directly upload the photos that they have captured to ‘Shot on OnePlus’.
Given below is the complete list of updates.
- Update to Android O (8.0)
- Added Parallel Apps
- Added Picture in Picture
- Added Auto-fill
- Added Smart text selection
- New Quick Settings design
- Updated security patch to September

- New app folder design
- Now able to upload photos directly to Shot on OnePlus
If you have not received the update, then you don’t really need to worry about anything. The version is being launched as an additional update as mentioned previously.
